Our Children’s Academy is a public charter school serving special needs children. Our Children's unique model combines an individualized educational program with a medical program thus meeting both the educational and therapeutic needs of the child. We are a non-profit learning center serving students with a variety of developmental disabilities. We use scientifically validated procedures and curriculum to help our children be successful both in their education and in their life.

are seeking the services of a design-build consultant to provide all necessary design and construction related services for the design and construction of a new +/- 50,000 square foot school. Our Children’s Academy is a “start up” charter school that recently received a 10 year charter renewal. It was developed to meet both the medical and educational needs of children 12 months through 5th grade in the greater east Polk County area.
Our Children’s will embark on a Building Fund Campaign to determine the presence of support to raise the financial resources needed to build this school. It is our hope and dream to be able to raise the money and begin construction by October 2010 and be ready to open school in the fall of 2011. If necessary, the design-build consultant should be prepared to build this project in phases in accordance with the revenue raised. The site for this new school has been purchased adjacent to the current Our Children’s Academy location at 555 Burns Ave., Lake Wales, Fl. 33853.

The selection committee may elect to select a design-build consultant based on the proposals, or may conduct interviews with those firms deemed most responsive.
